Black Rushmore

(45 piece puzzle)

Beyond the mountains of the Lollipop Forest, Zoey saw a glimpse of a tall figure. She grabbed her binoculars to identify what it could be. “Brandon, Isaiah, and Isabella come look,” as she gazed amongst the glorious monuments. The children ran over to Zoey to discover what Zoey was so enamored with. “That sort of looks like Michelle Obama if you squint a little,” Isabella said.
“Why would there be a carving of Michelle Obama? I didn’t read about that in my history books,“ Brandon exclaimed.

Zoey motioned for her friends to move closer. The children soon realized that the Lollipop Forest has many things to discover. Isaiah stood still looking awestruck at the figures above. “How cool is this? It is Michelle Obama! This is like Mount Rushmore but black.” “Black Rushmore,” Zoey suggested.
“We have Michelle Obama, Malcolm X…” Brandon mumbles aloud.

“Michael Eric Dyson! I only know that because my Dad has all of his books,” Isabella shouts in excitement.

But who was the last figure they all wondered? The children began to look around and found a glass box with information about the historical figures above. It was Zora Neale Hurston
“Let’s learn more,” they all said with glee.
